ph. 800-504-4016Employee exposure to inadequately or unguarded machines is prevalent in many industrial settings, resulting in 18,000 amputations and over 800 deaths per year. Machine guarding violations routinely rank among the top ten OSHA citations each year. OSHA regulations require guards where machine parts, functions, or processes may cause injury. As a safety director, your job is to create a working environment free of machine hazards and to comply with all OSHA and state regulations. But do your plant safeguards meet OSHA requirements? Is OSHA compliance good enough, or should you go above and beyond the letter of the law?
Modular caged machine guard system.
DFP manufactures modular panels for machine perimeter guarding applications. These systems offer ease of installation, and feature wire mesh panels for excellent visibility. In addition to keeping workers clear of all moving machine parts, perimeter machine guard systems also serve as a safety net, deflecting parts that might be inadvertently thrown by malfunctioning work cells. Doors are equipped with safety interlock switches that disengage and shut down equipment upon opening. Light curtain or photo-electric safety switches and pressure activated safety mats are also available.
Whether your application and budget call for self-installation or a turn-key provider, DFP can help with your machine guard needs. Contact DFP for more information about our perimeter machine guard systems.
Modular caged machine guarding system restricts worker access to work cell area during manufacturing. For additional safety, various types of door interlock systems turn off machinery when workers enter restricted areas.
