National Stand DownDuring the month of May, a record number of companies and construction workers will join the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to participate in the second annual National Fall Safety Stand-Down.  During the two-week Stand-Down, employers and workers in all 50 states will voluntarily stop work to focus on fall hazards and how to prevent them.

According to U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez. “The construction industry is so important to our economy. We all depend on it every day. It drives growth and prosperity. It generates good, middle-class jobs that can support a family. But we have to make sure those jobs are as safe as they can possibly be. That’s why fall prevention and this Stand-Down are so important.”

Interested parties can visit the National Safety Stand-Down Web page for details on how to conduct a Stand-Down, access free education and training resources, fact sheets and other outreach materials in English and Spanish, and receive a certificate of participation.
